Agreement
By using dappled (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by the developer of dappled (“we”, “us”, “our”).
What dappled provides
dappled is a garden sun planning tool. It uses solar calculations to estimate sunlight and shade patterns in your garden based on the location, boundaries, and obstructions you provide. Results are approximate and intended for garden planning purposes only.
Accounts
You can use dappled without an account (anonymous mode). When you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
Anonymous users can create 1 garden stored locally in the browser. Free accounts can create up to 2 gardens synced to the cloud. dappled+ subscribers can create unlimited gardens.
dappled+ subscription
dappled+ is a paid subscription at $5 USD per year. It includes PNG export, satellite overlay, date picker, unlimited gardens, and an ad-free experience.
Payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles billing, tax calculation, refunds, and compliance. By subscribing, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms.
Subscriptions renew annually. You can cancel at any time through Lemon Squeezy's customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Your content
You own the garden data you create in dappled. We do not claim any ownership of your content. We store it solely to provide the Service to you. You can delete your projects at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to: attempting to access other users' data, interfering with the Service's operation, or using automated tools to scrape or overload the Service.
Accuracy disclaimer
Sun and shade calculations are estimates based on solar geometry and the data you provide. They do not account for weather, atmospheric conditions, vegetation growth, or structures not modeled. Do not rely on dappled for decisions requiring precise solar measurements (e.g., solar panel installation). The Service is provided for garden planning purposes only.
Limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost data, inaccurate calculations, or service interruptions. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for dappled+ in the past 12 months.
Service changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If we make changes that materially reduce dappled+ functionality, we will provide reasonable notice to subscribers.
Account termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of dappled after changes constitutes acceptance.
